Oral food challenges (OFCs) remain the gold standard for diagnosis of food allergy.
Although double-blind placebo-controlled OFCs are the criteria standard, they are time
consuming and unrealistic in a clinical setting and, therefore, reserved mainly for research
purposes. Open (nonblinded) challenges are the method of choice, with ingestion of meal-
